So, this is what I woke up to today at 6 am.....
You must know this is not common around here.
So while some parts of the states have been covered with 3 feet of snow, I coudn't have been more elated with our inch covering the ground.
You can't really tell much from this picture, but I just thought it was a pretty shot of the house. :)
My little man and I got our clothes on (yes, he's overdressed, but I didn't worry about him rolling around and getting soaked) and were playing by 7 am.
It was snowing the whole time we were outside--so beautiful! Sledding down the front yard...this was the fun part.
This not so much.
Who's the blue stay-puff marshmellow man?? Well, that's me, of course.
My rosemary was hanging tough, but it didn't look so good a few hours later.
sweet footprints
This was around 9 yesterday morning...already getting lots of cover. (This is probably a good time to tell you that I LOVE snow. It only snowed (enough to play in) once when I was growing up...time of my life. When we went to Montana a couple of years ago, I did not want to leave. The snow is enchanting to me....such a lovely gift from our Father--I can also maintain this appreciation because I do not have to deal with any of the trouble it brings for those who battle it every winter season.
By the afternoon....
our big plants and trees were laying on the ground...we were a little concerned that we might be losing a little bit of plant life...no worries, it's all melting already!
After naptime and Matt came home early, we were able to play with the Meadows a little while....
Here are Gray and Jacob getting ready to sled down our hill in front of the house; I love that these sweet boys (born a week apart) get to share so many experiences together and that I get to share those same experiences with one of my best friends! Love you guys!
such cuties
John, Jenny's youngest, joined in on the fun--his face cracks me up--"I'm so over this!"
Brian and Matt racing the kids up the hill
Our daddy made us snow cream, a little tradition of his family's past snow's together....
yummy. (please, pretty please ignore the scary state I'm in--lots of hat hair and no makeup :)
What a lovely and unexpected day. Thank you God, for the small joys you bless our life with! I'm sure we'll post a couple more pictures...can't wait to see everybody else's!
