Tot School-Week 2-1-10-I Love You!

Tot School

Learning Fun/Creative Play:

Because of our attic renovations, I've been enlisting the help of my most enthusiastic helper.  This time we were testing out colors for the kids' playroom.

He loves to paint anything!

Ava spends more and more time with us while we're playing together.  This picture says it all....Grayson is getting a little impatient with Ava knocking his tower over.

He pulled it together enough to share, though....

Playing a little Connect 4 (except we don't really play--we just see who can put their color in the fastest.  alternating the colors throws my particular son off his game :)

and "Don't Break the Ice--good for motor skills when you don't just smash them all in.

A little tea party for my two kiddos...

We put together puzzle after puzzle this week--at least 10 different ones several different times.  He really loves puzzles...they really engage him and strengthen his problem solving skills.

This was one of the states and we worked on identifying some, especially where we live.

Getting Crafty:

We got these Love Bugs and our game from Totally Tots Love Crafts page.  These were super simple and a lot of fun for Grayson.

Transforming our "catepillar" into a butterfly......

Click the link above to get specific instructions, but basically cut out your center shape with construction paper, attach to heart shaped doilies, add some eyes (or more) and antennae with pipe cleaner and you've got a precious love bug to hang on your refridgerator!

"Let me count the ways".....

I cut a posterboard in half and used a heart shaped cookie cutter to trace hearts and glitter glued some extras for decoration.  Grayson placed the correct number of conversations hearts (he didn't eat any, btw) to the corresponding number.  He loved this game, but he finally wore out after awhile and I had to ask him to finish.  I'm beginning to ask him to finish projects we start in preparation for preschool next year.

We had a fun week together around here--hope you and yours did too!

Little Bear has her 100 Day project due tomorrow, so I think I might adapt your conversation heart counting activity for her for that! Thanks for the idea!
