Okay, so I'm a little late for this post, but I was out of pocket yesterday and no blogging for me until now! I've joined one of my friends, Jennifer, on her Flashback Friday posts. Click here to check hers out and to link up and join us! She started this after flipping through some old pics of her little girl...I do this all the time, and I think it will be a lot of fun to join her and pull out all those old memories.
She and I must have had the same thought, because our posts will be very similar. Our theme this week was "Before and After" and since there is no way I'll be posting pre/post pregnancy pics up for your viewing pleasure, I decided to post some pictures of the nursery, now Ava's room.
When we built this house six years ago (the year we got married), we knew we loved it and were so blessed... and now....we love it just as much and more for all the memories we've created here! I always envisioned having lazy Saturdays here, having children with Matt, where I would put the Christmas tree and those special Christmas mornings, and all the everyday that makes a house a home, but I had no idea that reality would be exceed my expectations so! Even tonight, after only being gone one night, it's just so good to be home!
Ava's room started as our guest room, with basically a bed and small nightstand in it. It then was turned into Grayson's room, and stayed that way until we found out we were having a girl and then, of course, I pinked it up! So, just like Jennifer's post, I posted before, after, and now.

After as Gray's room:

And Now:

Here are some detailed pictures of the room now. I took a while and it still is a work in progress to pick out accessories, etc. for Ava's room. If you know me well, you know I'm a very decisive person, hence a decisive shopper. If I see it and it works and it's in the price range, it's done and purchased. I usually don't belabor over which white vase is just the right shade, I just see the one I'm drawn to more, and that's it. Mostly I'm pleased with the choices I make, so it works for me, but I really wanted to take my time on this one since it was a
girly room and I could do the whole thing without input from Matt (sorry honey-you know I love your help! :). I picked up things here and there and some were gifts, and I'm still on the lookout and still hanging things we've already gotten.
These are the curtains my mom made for the room....this was her gift to us. Again, we never would have been able to buy such beauties! I love the weight of them and how the puddle on the floor. (I know, for those of you men who keep up with us, this post is probably not for you!)

A closeup of the trim:

Another view of the room...messy, but you get the idea.

Love the diaper stacker....really, I love all this
girly stuff. It's just all so soft and sweet!

I got these lamps at Hobby Lobby, 50% off at $35!!! I was SO excited about them...probably my most exciting piece...until the rug that Matt's sweet mom and dad bought us, and the curtains.
Never mind, I am excited about it all!

I even love her night light I got at Target...

Love that I found these books in pink..."A Little Princess", "Secret Garden", and "Emma." And this is her first doll from my mom.
Thanks for indulging my excitement over the pink room, and I look forward to looking back every Friday; next week is "Birthday's." See you then!

I love your before after & now photos! I love Ava's pink room. You did great! Addie has that same night light from Target and Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite stores!
What a sweet room! I know Ava will enjoy it as she gets older!
