We've been blessed with a small neighborhood with a closed street, so we have taken Grayson trick or treating the last two years. Last year was fun, but this year was so cute and he was so independent. We actually even got a family photo!

As I've mentioned, Gray decided to be a "good knight" even though I was convinced he would choose to be a pirate again. I think he decided it was just as good because not only did a good knight get to carry a sword, but a shield as well! I think that's it...he'll only choose people that carry some kind of weapon!

Putting our treats on the porch...we knew we were going to be gone, so we left our candy and some pumpkin rice krispie treats for people to snag. I know, my son never has pants on, but those things are "tricky to go potty" as he says!

Love that my good knight looks a little sloppy...so much cuter!

Ava was a cuddly pink leopard (a suped-up sleeper from Walmart) and was adorable! It was chilly, so it turned out to be a great choice for her.

Getting ready to hit the streets....I know, it's not dark, but we have to go early or meltdowns would begin around that 7 o'clock hour.

Our sweet neighbors, the Williams' left a little ghost to pass out candy for them since they were gone. Grayson was even a little scared at first!

We normally use the wagon, but we were afraid it was a little too chilly to stick Ava outside for too long. Besides, Grayson loved riding up front with his daddy and me. (oh, we are just in our neighborhood, by the way! :)

Big man, right? Oh, the funniest part was that after he dutifully said his "trick or treat, please" line, he would stick out his pumpkin to get candy, and immediately ask if he could come inside, while pushing the door open. Everyone was more than willing to accommodate, so we spent most of the night barging in people's houses and explaining to him that wasn't part of the gig. I'm pretty sure he never really got it!

Ava stayed in the car with her Nana, who was dolled up in her own Halloween gear!

Spreading out the loot....

Gray got to pick 5 treats, because I figured we'd let him have that many anyway. He only wound up eating a couple of m-n-m's and part of his rice krispie treat I made him...the rest will be reserved for some exciting potty treats. Gotta maximize their use, right?
It was a lot of fun...can't wait to see what kind of sword carrying outfit we'll come up with next year!
